Sophia is Hanson Robotics' best-known humanoid, a social robot with a lifelike face made from the company's patented Frubber elastomer skin. She can show more than 60 facial expressions and hold natural conversations, has appeared on major television shows and at conferences worldwide, and in 2017 became the first robot to receive citizenship from any country. Hanson now offers Sophia as an early commercial product, the Sophia Utility platform, with a face of up to 74 degrees of freedom, more than 200 integrated sensors including cameras, ToF, IMU, touch and a microphone array, gestural arms and hands, an optional self-charging LiDAR mobile base, and a cognitive AI SDK with a ROS bridge for research and business use.
