Adam-U is PNDbotics' upper-body humanoid for desktop and workstation manipulation research. It takes the head, torso and arms of the Adam humanoid, adds PND dexterous hands and mounts them on a lifting column and caster chassis instead of legs, so its height adjusts between 1.35 m and 1.77 m. The robot has 31 quasi-direct-drive, force-controlled joints: 13 per arm including six in each hand, a 3-DoF waist with brakes and a 2-DoF neck. A ZED Mini depth camera, an Intel NUC main computer and an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX rated at 100 TOPS handle perception and control, power comes from a 1,172 Wh battery, and the software stack supports ROS 2 Humble.
