ArtiXon is X Square Robot's five-finger dexterous hand, offered on its own and used as the end effector of the company's Quanta X2 wheeled humanoid. It has 20 joint degrees of freedom driven by 15 active actuators through bionic tendons and micro gearboxes, enabling 31 manipulation types such as pinching, grasping and twisting, with a full open-close cycle in under one second. Fingertip force sensors detect normal and shear forces from 0.1 N, the hand weighs under 1 kg and handles payloads of 3 to 5 kg, and it runs a 100 Hz closed control loop over USB 3.0 with ROS 1 and ROS 2 support. A self-locking mechanism cuts static power by 80% while holding an object.
