IDC's first global humanoid tracker puts H1 2026 shipments at nearly 25,000 units, +432.1% YoY, with market value over USD 740M (+322.7%). China shipped 19,000+ units domestically (+426.3%, ~77.9% of global); Chinese vendors took over 95% of global shipments. IDC raised its 2030 forecast to 750,000+ units, roughly 50% above its prior estimate, citing a shift from research, performance and government data-collection (83.8% of 2025 demand, down to 69%) toward auto manufacturing, retail, logistics and home pilots. The numbers land above Counterpoint's 22,000 / ~+300% (Aug 19) and Smart Analytics Global's 19,100 / +272% (Aug 10); a Chinese industry alliance report in August claimed China alone shipped 40,000+ — definitions clearly diverge across the four houses.
Why it matters: Three Western trackers now agree on direction but disagree by ~30% on volume, and the Chinese alliance figure is double IDC's. The unit count is becoming a definitional battleground — treat any single "market share" decimal with caution; the 2030 upgrades are the more durable signal.

Benmo Technology (6731.HK), the direct-drive power-module maker, began trading on the HKEX main board on Sept 29 after pricing at HKD 21.60 (~USD 2.78) for a HKD 1.08B (~USD 139M) raise (DroidHunt, Sept 28). It opened at HKD 22.48, +4.1%, the only gainer among four HK IPOs that day; the other three opened down 2.3%–9.1%. Retail tranche was 208.56x covered; grey market closed +3.4%. Listing market cap ~HKD 7.98B (~USD 1.03B), a 24.5x 2025 price-to-sales multiple versus ~12.9x for UBTECH. CEO Zhang Di spoke at the ceremony; cornerstone investors with Dongguan and Beijing state backing hold 43.54% under six-month lockup.
Why it matters: A green open in a market where 75% of H2 2026 HK IPOs broke issue on day one keeps the robotics-listing window open — and sets the reference price for the 18C queue behind it (PaXini, GigaAI, others).

UBTECH announced U1-series bionic humanoid deliveries had started on Sept 16, but on Sept 27–28 reporters posing as buyers were told by UBTECH's Tmall and JD flagship stores that U1 Pro first-wave deliveries slipped to Nov 30. UBTECH HQ told National Business Daily on Sept 28 the reports are "incorrect," that U1 is shipping in preorder sequence, and its JD store simultaneously said "presale, not yet delivered." The U1 line — Lite at RMB 119,800 (~USD 16,800), Pro at RMB 169,800 (~USD 23,800), Ultra at RMB 880,000–990,000 — is UBTECH's consumer push under the UWORLD brand; CEO Zhou Jian claimed 13,361 all-channel orders as of June 30.
Why it matters: Ultra-bionic companion humanoids are the least proven demand pool in the IDC/SAG data. Conflicting delivery signals from official channels within days of a delivery launch put the 13,361-order claim and the year-end full-delivery pledge under scrutiny.

SiMa.ai announced a $150M Series C on Sept 28, co-led by Fidelity Management & Research and Amplify, valuing the San Jose edge-AI chip startup at $1.45B and bringing total funding to $500M. New investors include AllianceBernstein, Baron Capital, J.P. Morgan and the State of Michigan. The company pitches its Modalix MLSoC and Palette software as a lower-power, lower-cost alternative to NVIDIA GPUs for humanoids, automotive and drones; proceeds fund a next-gen 1,000 dense-TOPS platform slated for H1 2028. Counterpoint projects 145M cumulative physical-AI device shipments by 2035.
Why it matters: Humanoid compute today runs overwhelmingly on NVIDIA Jetson/Thor. A $1.45B-marked challenger with Fidelity and J.P. Morgan money signals investors expect the humanoid BOM compute slot to be contested, not conceded — a live thread given China's parallel domestic-silicon push (see LimX item).

LimX Dynamics and Kyland Technology unveiled on Sept 28 what they call China's first humanoid robot running a fully domestic electronic architecture: Kyland's Intewell industrial OS, the AUTBUS deterministic bus (a Chinese-led TSN-based international standard), MaVIEW tooling and a domestic AI processor, replacing the Linux/ROS + CAN/EtherCAT + NVIDIA Jetson/x86 stack typical of Chinese humanoids. LimX — which closed a ~$200M Pre-IPO round in July at a RMB 15B (~USD 2.1B) valuation — supplies the body and its COSA "humanoid brain" system.
Why it matters: This is the humanoid supply chain's de-Westernization made concrete at the nervous-system level. If export controls tighten on Jetson-class silicon, an AUTBUS/Intewell stack gives Chinese OEMs a continuity path — at unproven performance cost.

Embodied-AI startup KNOWIN (诺因智能) announced an "angel+++" round of several hundred million RMB on Sept 29, led by a JD.com-affiliated fund with Zhengxingu Capital, Nanshan Strategic Emerging Fund and Walden participating. Cumulative funding in roughly one year now exceeds RMB 1B (~USD 140M). The company is building its GLOW embodied foundation model — robots learning from demonstration without task-specific code — and the KNOWIN-X1 robot, targeted for unveiling and mass production in Q1 2027. Funds go to data scaling, X1 production engineering and hiring.
Why it matters: JD's check adds another Chinese tech giant to the embodied-model land grab, and RMB 1B in year one for a pre-product startup underlines how capital-intensive China's "embodied brain" race has become ahead of 2027 product launches.

Anhui province's government issued its robot-industry implementation opinion, detailed at a Sept 28 press briefing: by 2030 the province targets national first-tier humanoid production, leadership in 10+ robot sub-segments, and a nationally significant robot cluster by 2035. Backing it: RMB 500M (~USD 70M) per year in provincial funds from 2027–2030 and a RMB 10B (~USD 1.4B) robot and embodied-AI fund group, plus car-to-robot supply-chain crossover measures. Tianjin issued a parallel 2026–2028 intelligent-robot action plan the same day.
Why it matters: Provincial competition is now a primary funding channel for Chinese humanoids. Anhui's auto-manufacturing base (Chery, NIO Hefei) makes its "vehicle-to-robot crossover" clause more than rhetoric for actuator and assembly supply.

Anyverse Dynamics founder and CEO Zhang Yufeng told Chosun Ilbo at the ZGC Forum Tech Innovators Conference that the company will start humanoid pilot operations in South Korean commercial settings — coffee shops first — in Q4 2026, building on a test-environment partnership with Korean chain HOLLYS. Its K15 humanoid arrived at a factory in France in September for loading/unloading and material-transport tasks. The company runs a 7B-parameter on-robot model under a "latent-space world model + RL" architecture, and targets household robots within two to three years.
Why it matters: A Chinese embodied-AI startup sequencing industrial (France) before commercial (Korea) is a live test of whether service scenarios like cafés can carry humanoid economics — and a rare Chinese deployment push into Korea.
