Forbes' John Koetsier published vendor-level figures from IDC's first global humanoid tracker (top-line numbers covered in DroidHunt, Sept 29). Agibot shipped more than 8,600 humanoids in H1 2026, ~35% of the global market; Unitree came second with roughly 5,000, followed by a steep drop-off to mostly Chinese vendors shipping hundreds each. IDC pegs H1 revenue above USD 740M, up 322.7% YoY, with shipments up 432.1% — i.e., average selling prices are falling as volumes scale. The shipment counts sit well below company-reported cumulative production (AgiBot 20,000 through Sept 24; Unitree ~18,000 through July), consistent with production running ahead of recognized shipments.
Why it matters: First credible vendor-level market-share map. Agibot's lead is wider than expected, and the gap between production and shipments quantifies how much inventory and data-center channel stuffing the headline build rates may contain.

Direct Drive Tech — the listed name of Benmo Technology (6731.HK), which listed on HKEX on Sept 29 (DroidHunt, Sept 29) — announced a strategic cooperation agreement with China Rare Earth Group Innovation Technology, signed Sept 29. The pair will jointly develop high-performance magnetic materials for direct-drive motors, including neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, flux-concentrating rings and radially oriented magnetic rings, explicitly linking upstream rare-earth resources to robot drive modules. Benmo is China's largest consumer-robot direct-drive module maker (61.1% share, 2025, per Frost & Sullivan) and supplies four of the global top-10 consumer robot companies.
Why it matters: China's state rare-earth champion moving downstream into robot motors tightens the vertical grip on a bottleneck component — and gives Benmo secured magnet supply as humanoid actuator demand ramps.

Qiyuan Robotics began order-sequential shipments of its Q1 and T1 personal humanoids on Oct 1, hitting the date promised at the Sept 20 launch (DroidHunt, Sept 21). In a Securities Times interview published Sept 30, Shangwei New Materials CEO Tian Hua said robot-business investment exceeded RMB 160M (~USD 22M) in H1 and will top RMB 500M (~USD 70M) for the full year, spanning body, motion control, multimodal interaction and agent software. Q1 (88 cm, 15 kg, 22 DoF) and the transformable wheel-legged/quadruped T1 both start at RMB 19,999 (~USD 2,800), with first authorized experience stores across seven cities.
Why it matters: First consumer-priced bipedal humanoid to actually reach buyers at scale pricing. Delivery punctuality, return rates and real usage over the next 3–6 months will test whether RMB 20k humanoids are a category or a gimmick.

UBTECH's Cruzr industrial humanoid series added automotive customers GAC and BYD, deploying in welding-shop material-handling scenarios, according to The Paper's September robot-industry monthly report published Oct 1. The company's Zigong assembly line — southwest China's first humanoid assembly line — continues ramping, landed roughly a year ahead of its original 2027 plan. The additions build on the Liuzhou 10,000-unit/year smart factory commissioned Sept 12 (DroidHunt, Sept 13) and recent order wins including the ~RMB 150.8M Leshan project (DroidHunt, Sept 14).
Why it matters: Welding-shop material handling at two major automakers is exactly the paid industrial work skeptics say is scarce. Watch whether these convert from pilots into multi-unit recurring orders.

Hesai said Sharpa's D01 humanoid and W02 dexterous hand — launched at IROS 2026 on Sept 28 (DroidHunt, Sept 28) — use Hesai power supply modules, and that the D01 is the first humanoid robot to carry two Hesai FTX solid-state lidars. The disclosure came via Hesai's official news channel on Sept 30. The FTX is Hesai's short-range solid-state unit for blind-spot perception; pairing two on a humanoid head/torso gives near-field coverage for manipulation and navigation.
Why it matters: A named automotive-grade lidar supplier inside a humanoid BOM shows sensors migrating from AV supply chains into humanoids — a new revenue line for lidar makers as robot volumes grow.

Shenzhen-based DH-Robotics debuted the ADH-5-13 at IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh on Sept 30: a five-finger dexterous hand with 13 independently controlled active degrees of freedom in a fully direct-drive, backdrivable architecture. Company specs: 735 g, up to 20 kg lifting payload once grasped, ±0.2 mm fingertip repeatability, dual magnetic encoders per joint, fingertip tactile sensing with optional e-skin, six-axis F/T and visuotactile sensors — all field-swappable without dismantling the hand. It also showed the deployment-focused three-finger UDH-3-7 (7 DoF, 15 kg payload, ±0.02 mm repeatability, 1M-cycle design life).
Why it matters: The dexterous-hand field is converging on direct-drive plus modular tactile sensing; a serviceable, sensor-agnostic platform targets the data-collection and teleop buyers driving near-term demand.
