Humanoid Robotics Morning Brew - October 11, 2026

  • TMTPost tallies >RMB 40M (~USD 5.6M) in data-center bids won by AgiBot from centers it part-owns — fresh audit-risk scrutiny ahead of its planned Hong Kong IPO.
  • Ledong Robot (01236.HK) signs a tactile-sensing joint R&D pact with Huazhong University of Science and Technology for dexterous-hand sensor arrays.

# TMTPost: AgiBot won >RMB 40M of bids from data centers it part-owns, renewing IPO audit-risk questions

TMTPost reported Oct 11 that AgiBot has won equipment bids from state-backed embodied-data collection centers in which it holds equity: RMB 31.02M (~USD 4.3M) from Hubei's Guanggu Dongzhi (AgiBot holds 15%) and RMB 12.74M (~USD 1.8M) from Zhuhai's Zhihui Yuanqi (holds 30%) — over RMB 40M total since 2025, with data bought back at above-market rates. The piece puts AgiBot's 2025 revenue at RMB 1.05B (~USD 147M) against cumulative 2023-25 net losses of ~RMB 280M (~USD 39M, narrowing), and notes it spun the data business into Mifeng Technology in Feb 2026 to isolate review risk. Interact Analysis counts at least 30 data centers using AgiBot humanoids, ~2x runner-up Leju. The same report shows the pattern is sector-wide: Leju's 2025 data-collection revenue was 44.94% of its total, and UBTECH's six Oct-Dec 2025 data orders (RMB 829M) made up 59% of its year's signings. Circularity in the data-center buildout was first flagged by DroidHunt on Sept 23.

Why it matters: HKEX listing rules probe commercial substance of related-party revenue. For AgiBot's planned Hong Kong IPO, revenue booked from partly owned, state-backed buyers — with data repurchased above market — is exactly the pattern auditors and the CSRC have been tightening on.

# Ledong Robot signs tactile-sensing joint R&D pact with Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Ledong Robot (01236.HK) announced via HKEX voluntary disclosure on Oct 11 a cooperation agreement with Huazhong University of Science and Technology covering joint R&D of flexible 3D tactile sensor devices and high-density tactile arrays for dexterous hands and robotic arms, plus scenario-based validation. The university work is led by Professor Li Kan. No financial terms, timeline or IP split were disclosed.

Why it matters: Tactile sensing is the thinnest layer of the dexterous-hand stack. A listed sensor maker locking a university lab for 3D flexible arrays signals where Chinese component suppliers expect near-term humanoid BOM (bill of materials) demand.

# Hive Robots starts humanoid shelf-stacking pilot with Danish grocer Føtex

Danish startup Hive Robots is partnering with supermarket chain Føtex to test and train humanoid robots stacking shelves in stores, the Associated Press reported Oct 11 (video report). The pilot targets routine shelf-restocking tasks; deployment scale, store count and timeline were not disclosed. Føtex is part of Salling Group, Denmark's largest retailer.

Why it matters: Grocery shelf-stocking is a high-mix, unstructured manipulation task few humanoids have touched in public. A live retail pilot in Europe — however small — is a useful deployment datapoint outside the China/US industrial-duopoly narrative.
