GXO Logistics and Agility Robotics announced Oct 26 an expansion of their humanoid partnership: Digit will deploy at GXO sites in Statesville, NC and Lebanon, TN, beginning early 2027 with Digit 4 and migrating to Digit 5 when commercially available. At the original Flowery Branch, GA site — the industry's first commercial humanoid RaaS deployment, struck June 2024 — Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes, and the fleet has logged over 65,000 real-world hours. A same-day Form 425 filing also names Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (a commercial deal following a pilot), Schaeffler (customer and investor), Mercado Libre, and three unnamed manufacturing clients. No robot counts or financial terms were disclosed.
Why it matters: This moves humanoid logistics from a single-site pilot to a multi-site rollout with a named, repeat blue-chip customer. SEC-filed disclosure of the broader customer list adds verification weight to Agility's order book ahead of the Churchill XI merger close expected in November.

Mitsubishi Electric (TOKYO: 6503) announced on Oct 21 what it calls the industry's first machining system in which humanoid robots and CNC machine tools seamlessly collaborate through physical AI. The system has three components: an AI machining task planner that takes operators' natural-language instructions, generates machining tasks, and coordinates work between the machine tool and a humanoid; a CNC machine tool equipped with physical AI that exchanges operational information in natural language; and a general-purpose humanoid robot. Built on Mitsubishi Electric's proprietary Maisart AI, it targets setup, cleaning, removal and transport of finished products, inspection, and troubleshooting — operator tasks that resist conventional automation because they demand costly production-line retrofits. A demonstration is exhibited at JIMTOF 2026, Tokyo Big Sight, from Oct 26.
Why it matters: A major CNC and machine-tool incumbent building the integration layer between humanoids and machine tools attacks a commonly cited adoption obstacle: today every robot needs bespoke communication functions and control sequences to connect to CNC equipment. Natural-language coordination points toward vendor-neutral factory integration.

Beijing humanoid robot maker CASBOT (中科慧灵) announced a Series A++ round of several hundred million RMB, with investors including Zhilai Capital, Yonghua Capital, Maotian Capital, Yuanhe Chenkun, Guoke Kezhi, and Luning, per TechStartups. The company reports cumulative orders exceeding RMB 400M (~USD 56M) tied to footwear-manufacturing deployments — a figure the company itself provided, and orders rather than recognized revenue.
Why it matters: Funding momentum continues for Chinese humanoid firms anchored in vertical manufacturing use cases, even as investors demand evidence of commercial traction. The order figure is company-reported and independently unverified.
